For JAKE & PETE’S BIG RECONCILIATION ATTEMPT FOR THE DISPUTES FROM THE PAST the brothers Jakob and Pieter Ampe will start just from the fact that they are brothers, both born in Burundi, both with a lot of good and bad memories from their youth. Pieter has since become a dancer, choreographer and in-house artist at CAMPO, while Jakob graduated as a voice coach and is a musician with The Germans.

For this production, the brothers will be studying each other very closely, like in a mirror. The performance will therefore be a study into the relationship between voice and movement. A study which will involve extremes as well as subtleties. Moreover, in their dialogue with Alain Platel, they would like to focus on their relationship with the audience and on the way in which they can or cannot incorporate commitment into this work.

Quite apart from this, there is something else that unites these brothers, namely their penchant for facile humour. Can’t wait to see where that is going to take them!
