This performance ist made by Nicole Beutler in collaboration with theatre maker/performer Sanja Mitrovic and composer/DJ Gary Shepherd.
Press conference or pop concert? Only gradually does one realize that the performer Sanja Mitrovic is lending her voice here to tragic female characters in the history of European theater, including Goethe's Gretchen, Medea, and Antigone, in texts put to music by Gary Shepherd.
The director and choreographer Nicole Beutler, born in Munich, is fascinated by the timelessness of these canonic texts. The clear rigidness of the form, focused completely on her as the performer, almost makes the emotions in the monologues physically perceptible. What moves us, what leaves us cold? How do we view emotions.
