The French philosopher and sociologist Bruno Latour is one of the pop stars in academics. In his essay "The Parliament of Things," he develops an anti-modern utopia of political representation. In this concept of "political ecology," Latour calls for a new way of thinking, which will arrange the complexity of today's world into adequate democratic processes. Latour's text strains to be more than just a theory. By means of a consequent turn toward this new political form, a new society is also meant to be formed. U-TOPIA?! wants to take this standard and apply it to DO TANK. As part of accompanying field research, open workshops and the active assistance of interested visitors as well as participants in the project, we will attempt to allow the contributions of different artistic projects to this bold plan to develop.

+Biography

Gero Tögl works as a dramatic advisor at PATHOS München, and he has been a research fellow with the German Research Foundation (DFG) project GLOBAL THEATRE HISTORIES since April 2010.
